Welcome to New Mexico Heel Pain Centers.

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the band of tissue that extends from the heel to the toes.  As you walk you put tension on this band of tissue and it becomes irritated and then inflamed.  People describe this as heel pain or arch pain depending on the exact location of the inflammation for that person.  It often is worse first thing in the morning after sleeping.  Most people get more pain the more they are on the foot during the day.  Plantar fasciitis or heel pain is the most common problem seen in our clinic here in Albuquerque and in foot clinics around the country.  Treatment options range from stretching to surgery.  New Mexico Heel Pain Centers has a protocol designed after the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons treatment guidelines.  We do a comprehensive evaluation and apply a treatment algorithm that we feel will return you to pain free activity quickly and permanently.  We specialize in both top quality pre-fabricated orthotics and custom orthotics.  Our custom orthotics are made by one of the finest labs in the country.   Digital foot impressions are captured by a doctor who uses a full page prescription to make the orthotic exactly the way your foot needs it. New Mexico Heel Pain Centers carries a wide range of other medical devices to help in the treatment of heel pain.  Night splints have been shown to help alleviate the painful first steps of the day and over time have been shown to help cure the painful symptoms associated with plantar fasciitis.   For severe cases of Achilles tendonitis casting may be necessary and we carry walking boots that allow patients to continue to be able to walk without crutches but also allow injured feet to heal.  The Centers also offers topical and oral anti-inflammatories to stop the pain associated with plantar fasciitis.

Don’t Live Life in Pain

Many people have struggled with heel pain, plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendonitis for many months or years.  For those people there are a number of aggressive treatment options to heal the injured and chronically painful foot.  Shockwave therapy is one of the best ways to non-surgically treat these feet.  New Mexico Heel Pain Centers and New Mexico Foot & Ankle Institute are excited to be the only place in New Mexico to have shockwave therapy in house.  Many people require only one session of shockwave therapy to get full healing of their foot.  The procedure takes less than 30 minutes.  There are also some injectable and surgical options available to patients who have suffered for 6 months or greater and have failed to respond to easier and less invasive options. For those of you who may be suffering with some form of heel or arch pain, please take time to learn  more about the problem and options to cure.  Foot and ankle pain can be complex and New Mexico Heel Pain Centers would love to discuss your specific problem more in depth and tailor a treatment plan for you that will allow you to return to normal pain free living.  New Mexico Foot & Ankle Institute and the Heel Pain Centers are dedicated to making your experience with our office the best you’ve ever had.  Make an appointment now to stop the pain.
